Altair Systems was largely involved in establishing the system test department of a manufacturer of UMTS mobile network equipment.

Project tasks:

• Building up the department from 3 to approx. 50 system test engineers

• Consultancy of the department manager in project planning and project management

• Technical consultancy for operation & maintenance of UMTS transport networks

• Management of sub-department test teams

• IT training for operations & maintenance: TMN, OSI, Q3, GDMO, ASN.1, CORBA, IDL

• IT methodical training for SW integration test, system test and load and stress test.

• Membership in the fault control board

• System test execution

• Execution of acceptance tests and of customer presentations

• SW-development of system test tools
